I live in a rather small village, located 30 minutes from Dalat city, where I spent my childhood in here. The village is we children’s paradise. After school, we and my friends often did not go back home directly. We normally played in the fields, where we could have many fun in there. Our memory was about roaming aimlessly around our village and plucking wild flowers from the patch, picked guavas from the small trees of the village orchard; Sometimes, we found wild herbs, vegetables for my family dinner, and nothing brings stronger memories for me than hanging out by swimming along the streams and catching fishes every time we got hungry.
Nowadays, our village changes so much, the
life is more comfortable than it was. We have more
buildings, schools, entertainment area,…in our town, but there are 2 things
that will never change, that is the atmosphere and people around me
Although there are many changes in this current
life, somehow, our village still keeps its fully peaceful with less crime and
no noisy as my childhood. My village is surrounded by uncontaminated air with a
lot of trees, coffee farms, streams and it makes a great beauty to my village
scene. Bicycle is the main vehicle in my village, so it is not noisy around the
day. Our village in day time full of birds singing and the night time when
small insects start their life. A short walk across to the hill overlooking the
village is a perfect spot to watch sunrise and sunset.
Also, people in here are very friendly and helpful. Differ from
city life, in my village, people live very close to each another. It seems that
we are a large family. To us, relationships
between neighbors are in such great bonds, neighbor relationship sometimes is
placed much greater emphasis than blood ties relationship. You are always welcomed when visiting their house and spend
time sharing with each other about almost everything from time to time. Especially, it is really hard for us to hold
weddings, funeral ceremonies and other kinds of cultural celebrations without
the help of our neighbor in communal activities. When you visit our village, it
is not surprising that you feel like coming back your hometown and receive the
warmly love from local people
